FAQ
Straight answers.
Don't see your question? Call. It's usually faster.
Do you have a shop where I can drop off my car?
No. We're fully mobile. We come to your driveway, workplace, or a safe roadside spot.
Are you really open 24/7?
Yes, every day including holidays. Visits from 8 pm to 7 am and on holidays add $75, and we tell you on the phone before we head out.
Which areas do you cover?
Yuba City, Marysville, Olivehurst, Linda, and Plumas Lake. If you're just past those, call and we'll quote the travel.
How much does it cost to have you come out?
Mobile diagnostics run $100 to $160, confirmed before the visit. If you approve the repair, that fee comes off the bill.
What do brakes and batteries cost?
Brake pad labor starts at $100 for one axle or $180 for front and rear. Standard battery installs start at $65 labor. Parts are extra, and we confirm the total before booking.
Do I pay before the work?
No. You pay after the repair is finished and tested with you.
What payment do you take?
Cash, Visa and Mastercard (credit or debit), Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal. No checks.
What can't you fix on site?
Jobs that need a lift or heavy shop equipment, like transmission rebuilds, internal engine work, and alignments. We'll tell you on the call.
Can you work in my apartment parking lot?
Usually, if the property allows repairs. Check with your manager first.
Do you warranty repairs?
Yes. Labor is covered for 90 days or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first, and parts carry the manufacturer's warranty.
How long do batteries last around here?
In the valley's summer heat, three to four years is common. Heat wears the plates out faster than cold does.
Is it the battery or the starter?
Bright lights with one click usually point to the starter. Dim lights and fast clicking usually point to the battery.
Can I just keep jump-starting it?
Not for long. Without a working alternator the car will die again once the battery drains, sometimes in minutes.
Do rotors always need replacing?
No. If they're above minimum thickness and run true, we can reuse them and save you the cost.
Can't I just get a free code read at a parts store?
You can, and it's a fine start. A code points to a system. Testing finds the actual part.
Is a clunk dangerous?
Sometimes. A worn ball joint or tie rod can fail. Have it checked soon.
Why replace the water pump too?
On many engines the pump sits behind the belt. Doing both now saves paying the same labor twice.
Can I keep driving if it's overheating?
No. Pull over safely, shut it off, and call. Driving hot can warp the cylinder head.
Is a valve cover leak dangerous?
Oil on hot exhaust can smoke and, rarely, catch fire. It's worth fixing early.
Should I replace all the coils?
Usually only the failed one. If they're original and high mileage, we'll quote both ways.
Synthetic or conventional?
Whatever your manufacturer specifies. Most newer cars call for synthetic.
How much is an inspection?
$150 at the seller's location, with a same-day report.
